Trip Itinerary
DAY 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Your tour guide will pick you from the airport on arrival or Hotel in Kigali and take you for an OPTIONAL city tour. Visit the genocide memorial, Nyamata church, local markets among others. You will then drive northwards to Volcanoes National park. You will enjoy a spectacular scenic view enroute of the Virunga Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Le bambou Gorilla Lodge(Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking Adventure and cultural walk.
Take your early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the tropical forest. You will spend a maximum of one hour taking observations; photographs and watching them feed or play around. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to iby’wachu cultural village. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Le bambou Gorilla Lodge (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Bwindi NP.
In the morning, you will go for golden monkey tracking where you will enjoy these rare monkey species play in the forest in search of food. On return, you will setoff to Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda for another gorilla trek the next day. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge/Ruhiija Lodge/Gorilla Mist Camp.
Day 4: 2nd Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi NP.
After breakfast, your tour guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing by the park warden. At 8:30 am local time, the gorilla trek begins. It normally takes between 2 to 8 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas in the jungle the previous night. In the evening, you will go for community walk to the Batwa or take a rest. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Set off in the morning to Q.E.N.P, enter the park while game viewing. You shall go through the Ishasha sector of the park where you find rare wildlife behavior of Lions that intentionally climb trees to relax and do surveillance on their territory and possible prey. Proceed to kazinga channel for an afternoon boat cruise. In the evening, go for game drives. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Kyambura game Lodge.
Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Have an early breakfast and drive to the Kalinju forest headquarters for briefing and later embark on chimpanzee tracking. The trek will expose you to other primates like Vervet, red-tailed monkeys, the Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Olive Baboons. On return, you will set off to Lake Bunyony in Kabale. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest@Bunyonyi resort(Luxury)/Bunyonyi Safari Resort.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali and departure.
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you may take a boat cruise up to the punishment island and later transfer back to Kigali via Katuna border and later to the airport to check-in for your departure flight.
