4 Days Uganda Double Gorilla Tracking Adventure

Uganda is the only park with 2 separate national parks hosting the mountain gorillas. These parks are Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga Gorilla national park. Much as the gorillas in these two parks are similar, the terrain and vegetation cover in these two parks are different.

Therefore, with double gorilla tracking adventure, you will have an opportunity to see the gorillas in these two different gorilla parks. This itinerary will start and end in Entebbe.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi.

In the morning at 7:00am, you will be picked from your hotel in Entebbe and drive southwestwards to Bwindi National park, with stop over at the equator for photography and experimentation, and in Mbarara town for lunch. Continue the scenic drive to Kabale town, also known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. You will continue to the southern sector of Bwindi national park in Rushaga reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge/ Rushaga Gorilla Camp/ 4Gorillas Lodge.

Day 2: 1st Gorilla tracking adventure and cultural walk.

Early morning after your breakfast,  with parked launch, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. It is here that you will be allocated the gorilla family to track based on your physical fitness.

At 8:30am, you will head out into the forest to begin the search for these gentle giants in their natural environment. This may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. With the help of the park guides and rangers, they will clear the shrubs ahead of you to create some path for you. Upon meeting with the gorillas, you will stay with them for a maximum of one hour which will give you time to ask questions, observe their behavior. You will then descend back to the lodge and have some refreshment. You will then visit the local community of the Batwa and Bakiga natives time allowing. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge/ Rushaga Gorilla Camp/ 4Gorillas Lodge.

Day 3: 2nd Gorilla tracking in Mgahinga National park and transfer to lake Bunyonyi.

Early in the morning at 5:30am, you will drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park reaching early by 7:00am and assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the animals. Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to the park headquarters and then then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight at Birdnest@Bunyonyi Resort/ Bunyonyi Rock resort.

Day 4: Transfer to Entebbe.

In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will set off back to Entebbe reaching in the evening and transfer to the airport for your departure flight if on schedule.
