Trip Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival in Kigali, your guide/driver will receive you from the airport and transfer you to Volcanoes National park. You will enjoy a spectacular scenic view en route to the Virunga Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Take your early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas before heading for gorilla tracking in the forest. Tracking will take 1-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. You will spend a maximum of one hour taking observations; photographs and watching them feed or play around. In the evening, you may go for a cultural walk to iby’wachu. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Le bambou Gorilla Lodge(Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
DAY 3: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Kivu
You will take your breakfast and after a briefing at the park headquarters, head to for golden Monkey tracking. Enjoy them play in the forest in search of food. On return, transfer lake Kivu reaching early for an OPTIONAL boat cruise to the hot springs. 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla & Wildlife, Dinner and overnight stay at Kivu Serena Hotel (Luxury)/ Paradise malahide (Deluxe)/ Palm Garden resort(Budget).
DAY 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After your breakfast, you will set off a scenic drive to Nyungwe forest national park in southern Rwanda reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge (Luxury)/Nyungwe Top View Lodge(Deluxe) / Gisakura Guest House.
DAY 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and nature walk.
Have an early breakfast and drive to the park headquarters to be briefed about the “dos and don’ts” while with the chimps before entering the forest. You will encounter the chimps and many other primates like the black and white monkeys and various bird species. In the afternoon, go for Nature walk up to the waterfall. Dinner and overnight stay (day 4).
DAY 6: Colobus monkey tracking and canopy walk.
Take breakfast and head to the head quarters to be briefed and proceed to the forest with your guide to track the colobus monkeys. In the afternoon, we can go for a forest canopy walk adventure where you will enjoy the scenic view of the entire Nyungwe Forest top. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 7: Transfer to Kigali and Departure.
Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to with en route visit to Murambi Memorial, Nyanza palace and Butare Museum reaching Kigali in the evening and transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight back home if on schedule.
