A 7 Days Uganda Safari through Rwanda and Uganda. This safari offers you an opportunity to see the gorillas in both Rwanda and Uganda. You will also track the chimpanzees in Kibale Forest national park, one of the rich forests in Uganda. You will also enjoy game viewing in Queen Elizabeth national park as well as a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel.
Tour Itinerary
DAY 1: Transfer to Volcanoes NP
Your tour guide will pick you from the airport on arrival or Hotel in Kigali and take you for optional city tour. Visit the genocide memorial, Nyamata church, local markets among others. You will then drive northwards to Volcanoes National park. You will enjoy a spectacular scenic view of the Virunga Mountains enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Le bambou Gorilla Lodge(Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking Adventure and cultural walk
Take your early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the tropical forest. You will spend a maximum of one hour taking observations; photographs and watching them feed or play around. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to iby’wachu cultural village. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Bwindi NP
In the morning, you will go for golden monkey tracking where you will enjoy them play in the forest in search of food. On return, you will setoff to Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge/Ruhiija Lodge/Gorilla Mist camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set off in the morning to Q.E.N.P, enter the park while game viewing. You shall go through the Ishasha sector of the park where you find rare wildlife behavior of Lions that intentionally climb trees to relax and do surveillance on their territory and possible prey. Proceed to kazinga channel for afternoon boat cruise which will reward you with game as hippos, crocodiles, lots of bird species among others. In the evening, go for game drive to the Kasenyi sector where you will see game as elephants, lion, bushbucks, leopard among others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Kyambura game Lodge.
Day 5: Game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest NP
In the morning, you will go for more game drives to the Kasenyi sector to catch up with early risers before returning to their hiding places. You will encounter game as lions, hyenas, bushbucks, elephants among others. 7 Days Gorilla & Chimps Tracking, On return, drive to Kibale Forest NP reaching early for lunch. In the afternoon, you may go for a nature walk to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary or to the crater lakes. Dinner and overnight a Chimpanzee guest house/Primates Lodge Kibale/Crater Safari Lodge.
Day 6: 5th June. Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have an early breakfast and drive to the park headquarters, for briefing and later embark on chimpanzee tracking. The trek will expose you to other primates like Colobus Monkeys Giant forest hog, Vervet, red-tailed monkeys, the Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Olive Baboons, and over 350 bird species. On return, you will set off to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest@Bunyonyi resort(Luxury)/Bunyonyi Safari Resort.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali and departure
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you may take a boat cruise up to the punishment island and later transfer back to Kigali via Katuna border and later to the airport to check in for your departure flight.
