A 3 Days Uganda Safari to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area. This trip will start and end in Kampala, Uganda. This safari takes you on a long drive northwest of Kampala to Murchison Falls national park, one of the vast parks in Uganda. You will have a brief stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place where you can see white rhinos in Uganda. At the sanctuary, you will track the rhinos on foot, an experience that you cannot easily have elsewhere in East Africa.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver/guide. Drive Northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you through the famous and historical Luweero Triangle. Enroute, you will have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, a proud home to the only white rhinos in Uganda. Located in Nakasongola District, this is the breeding site foir the white rhinos that got extinct from Uganda’s national parks in the 1970s. Go for the one-hour Rhino tracking at Sanctuary. Apart from rhino tracking, you can also engage in several other adventures that include bird watching, nature walks and more. After the trek, have lunch. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park.
On reaching the park you will visit the top of the falls to see how the calm Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge through which it explodes into the falls. After the “Top of the Falls Experience” you will be transfered to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury) / Pakuba lodge (Deluxe) /Red Chilli Camp (Budget).
Day 2: Wildlife Game Drive and Boat Ride
In the morning before dawn, go for a game drive through the northern part of the Murchison Falls National Park. The game drive is aimed at the search for the early risers including predators within the park. The game drive may reward you with sightings of interesting game that include Hyenas, Leopards, elephants, hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs, giraffes etc.
Return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax as you await for early lunch. then In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile that takes you to the bottom of the falls. The boat safari along the Nile takes you to the Bottom of the Murchison Falls. It also rewards you with sightings of wild animals that frequent the banks of the river for water. Day 3: Primate tracking and Drive to Kampala
Early morning after breakfast, you will cross over to Budongo forest for an amazing primate tracking. You will have an adventure with the chimpanzee, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons, as they play in the fruiting trees. By mid-day, you will be done with the adventure and after lunch, set off for the journey back to Kampala reaching in the evening for your departure flight.
