15 Days Uganda Safari Adventure

This 15 Days Uganda Tour highlights gorilla tracking, chimpanzee trekking, game drive and viewing, nature walks as well cultural tours among other tour activities among the most visited tourist destinations in Uganda.

Visit Jinja, where there is a source of the Nile and is Uganda’s oldest industrial city, Murchison falls, one of the biggest savana parks in Uganda named after the mighty murchison Falls on the Nile, Kibale Forest national park, a primates capital with 13 primate species, Queen Elizabeth National park, famed for the tree climbing lions in Ishasha and highest concentration of hippos on the Kazinga channel, Bwindi impenetrable national park, a UNESCO world heritage and home to the half of the world’s mountain gorillas, Mgahinga national park where gold meets silver because it is a home to golden monkeys and mountain gorillas, Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in Africa, Lake Mburo National Park, one of the smallest savanna parks in Uganda.

The safari will start and end in Entebbe.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls.

In the morning at 7am, your driver/guide will meet you in Entebbe or in Kampala at your hotel for a pre-safari briefing before setting of a six hour hour journey Murchison Falls National Park, in the northern part of the country. You will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongora, a breeding place for the rhinos that were extinct from Murchison Falls National park in the 1970’s. You will spend one to 3 hours in the sanctuary where you will meet the rhinos in their sanctuary. On return, you will proceed Murchison falls national park reaching early to visit the top of the falls where you will enjoy the scenic view of the mighty murchison falls pouring down the 7 meter canyon with a thunderous roar. You will then continue to the northern park of the park for Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge(Luxury)/ Pakuba safari Lodge(deluxe). 

Day 2:  Game viewing and Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.

After an early cup of coffee at 6am, you will set off for game drive in the northern part of the park in search of game as lions, leopard, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda Kob, waterbuck among others moving through the lovely savanna grasses. You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and an early lunch. At 2pm, you will gather at the Nile for a boat safari to the bottom of the falls. This will reward you with game as crocodiles, hippos, bird species and other animals along the river banks.  Dinner and overnight at at Paraa Safari Lodge(Luxury)/ Pakuba safari Lodge(deluxe). 

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park

After breakfast, you will set off a scenic to Kibale Forest National park exiting Murchison Falls National Park by 9am through the Albertine rift valley. This six hour journey will take you through escarpments, plainlands, forests, reaching Kibale Forest National Park in the afternoon. You will go for nature walk to the crater lakes if time and energy permits, or relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge/ Turaco Treetops(deluxe)/ Primates Lodge Kibale/ Chimpundu Lodge(Luxury)

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and nature walk.

In the morning after an early breakfast, you will proceed to Kanyanchu park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the chimpanzees. You will be allocated the group and then head out into the forest at 8:30am for chimpanzee tracking adventure. This will take 0ne to 3 hours before encountering the chimpanzees, and one hour with the chimpanzees will be allowed once you meet them. On return, you will transfer back to the lodge for your lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will encounter lots of monkey species as Vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, Blue’hoerst monkeys and lots of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge/ Turaco Treetops(deluxe)/ Primates Lodge Kibale/ Chimpundu Lodge(Luxury)

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP and boat cruise.

After a relaxed breakfast, you will set off a 3 hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing via Kasese with a view of Rwenzori mountain ranges. You will reach Queen Elizabeth National Park early for lunch at your lodge or Mweya. At 2Pm, you will gather at the Kazinga channel for a 2 hour boat safari along the Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. A lot of animals such as Hippos, crocodiles, several water birds like cormorants and Pied kingfisher among the others will be seen during this boat safari. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge/Elephant plains lodge(Luxury)/ Buffalo safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge(deluxe).

Day 6: Game drive , nature walk and transfer to Ishasha.

After an early cup of coffee, you will go for experiential game drive to Kasenyi sector in search of game as lion, leopard, elephants, buffalos, hyenas among others. On return, you will go for nature walk to Katwe salt mining area to learn more about salt mining, or for nature walk to Imaramagambo forest. You will set off to Ishasha sector reaching in the evening for evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha wilderness camp(luxury) Embogo Lodge/Enjojo Lodge(deluxe). 

Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi NP.

In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, set off for game Drives in Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions. Depending on the day’s weather, you may be lucky to find them near or enter deep in search of them if them. You will then proceed to Bwindi NP reaching in the evening for Dinner and Overnight at 4 Gorillas Lodge/Kiho Gorilla safari Lodge(Luxury)/ Bakiga Lodge/Bweza Lodge(deluxe). 

Day 8:  Gorilla trekking adventure and cultural walk.

You will head to the park headquarters after your breakfast with packed lunch to be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. This will take 2-4 hours depending on the movement of these gentle apes. You will return in the afternoon for relaxation at your lodge. You may go for cultural walk in the evening to Batwa community. Dinner and overnight at stay at 4 Gorillas Lodge. Meal Plan: BLD.

Day 9: Transfer to Mgahinga national park.

This is a relaxing day after a long safari with limited rests! You will have a relaxed breakfast and later set off to Lake Mutanda where you will have an optional kayaking and visit the coffee farms for coffee experience. You will then relax at the lodge and dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe safari Lodge(deluxe)/ Gahinga Lodge(luxury)

Day 10:  Golden monkey and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga National Park for golden monkey tracking adventure immediately after being briefed by the park rangers. On return, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi reaching in the evening for dinner and overnight at Birdnest@Bunyonyi resort(luxury)/ Bunyonyi Rock resort(deluxe).

Day 11: Transfer to lake Mburo and boat cruise.

In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you may have an optional boat ride up to the punishment island. On return, you will set off to Lake Mburo reaching early in the afternoon a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, which will reward you with view of a variety of birds as well as animals. You will then have an evening game drive to see game as Zebras, Impalas, Giraffes among others. In the night, you may go for game drive in search of the leopard. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge/ Kigambira Lodge(Luxury)/ Rwakobo Rock(deluxe). 

Day 12:  Transfer back to Jinja.

After breakfast, go for guided nature walk and later set off to Jinja with en route game drive, and stopover to look at the Royal Drum makers, the Equator -where you will be able to stand and be on both hemispheres at once, arriving Jinja early in the evening for dinner and overnight at Wildwaters Lodge(Luxury)/ The Haven Jinja(deluxe) 

Day 13: Horse Riding/Jinja tour/water rafting.

In the morning at 8:00am, you will either go for Horse riding, or you go for Jinja tour to Visit the source of the Nile, the falls. or go for white water rafting on the Nile. You will then set off to Kampala with en route visit to the Sezibwa falls, Mabira forest, tea and Sugar estates. You will reach Kampala in the evening. Overnight stay at Kampala Serena Hotel(Luxury)/ Onomo Hotel(deluxe).

Day 14: Kampala City tour.

In the morning, you will be picked from the hotel and go for a city tour. Visit the national museum, Bahai temple, Ghadaffi Mosque, local markets, Namugongo martyrs museum. You will then transfer to Entebbe for overnight at No.5 Boutique Hotel/Marriott Hotel by Protea(luxury)/ 2Friends Beach Hotel(deluxe).

Day 15: Ngamba island excursion or Mabamba shoebill excursion and departure.

In the morning, you will either have an excursion to Mabamba swamp for an excursion in search of the rare shoebill stock. Or you will have a boat ride to Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary on Lake Victoria where you will enjoy feeding the chimpanzees. You will return in the afternoon for lunch and then transfer to the airport to check in for your departure flight.
