12 Days Uganda Adventure Safari

A 12 Days Uganda Safari Adventure across Uganda’s popular national parks. Encounter Africa’s big five in savanna national parks that include  Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. This safari also combines exclusive primates watching in Kibale Forest, the best place to see chimpanzees and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will see the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls
Your guide will meet you at the hotel in Entebbe and give you briefing before setting off to Murchison Falls National park, one of the best and biggest savannah parks in Uganda with a variety of game to see. You will have an en-route visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking before proceeding to Murchison Falls National park. You will reach Murchison falls national park early in the evening with a visit to the top of the falls for a remarkable sight and sound of the Nile crashing through a narrow gorge. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge (Deluxe)/Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury).

Day 2: Game viewing and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
Early morning, you will have a cup of coffee and head out to the northern part of the park for game drive in search of game as giraffes, buffalos, lion, leopard, Jackson’s hartebeest, among others moving through the lovely savanna grasses. You will return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon at 2pm, you will head to the Nile river for a launch trip on the River Nile upto the bottom of the falls. This will reward you with view of game as hippos, crocodiles, different bird species such as the Goliath herons, Egyptian geese, and many more. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge (Deluxe)/Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury).

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
After a heavy breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale Forest is home to 13 primate species. The journey goes through beautiful Albertine Rift, countryside homesteads, and banana plantations among others. You will reach the park early in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Primates Lodge Kibale/ Chimpundu Lodge(Luxury)/Chimpanzee Forest Lodge/ Turaco Treetops (Deluxe).

Day 4: Chimp habituation Experience
After early morning breakfast, you will proceed to Kanyanchu to start the Chimpanzee habituation experience where you will observe the time-to-time behavior of the chimpanzees returning in the evening.  This will give you ample time to take enough photos for the primates, which will apart from the chimps include Colobus Monkeys, Baboons, vervet monkeys among others. There are 13 primate species in Kibale Forest. Dinner and overnight at Primates Lodge Kibale/ Chimpundu Lodge (Luxury)/Chimpanzee Forest Lodge/ Turaco Treetops (Deluxe).

Day 5: Kibale-Queen Elizabeth NP
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a wide game view en route for hours like elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, and leopards. Have lunch which will be followed by a tremendous boat cruise along the Kazinga channel for scenic views of the lake Edward and George, Hippos, yawning crocodiles, several water birds like cormorants and Pied kingfisher among the others. Dinner and overnight at Enganzi Lodge/Buffalo safari lodge (Deluxe)/Mweya Safari Lodge /Katara Lodge (Luxury).

Day 6: Game drive and community walk/forest nature walk
You will wake up for a cup of tea and thereafter meet your guide for an early morning game drive through in the Kasenyi sector in search of game as lion, leopard, elephants, buffalos among others. In the afternoon, go for a forest nature walk in Immaramagambo forest, where you will see a variety of bird species, and visit the bat cave. You may as well visit the Salt mining area on Lake Katwe or the Kasenyi fishing village. Dinner and overnight stay at Enganzi Lodge/Buffalo safari lodge (Deluxe) /Mweya Safari Lodge /Katara Lodge (Luxury).

Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi NP
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, set off for game drives in the Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions. Depending on the day’s weather, you may be lucky to find them near or enter deep in search of them if them. Proceed to Bwindi National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining gorillas,  reaching in the evening for Dinner and Overnight at Bakiga Lodge/Gorilla Mist camp(deluxe)/ Kiho Gorilla safari lodge(Luxury) or similar in the other sectors.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking adventure and transfer to Mgahinga NP
You will head to the park headquarters after your breakfast with packed lunch to be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. This exciting activity will take you 106 hours depending on the movement of these gentle giants and the group allocated. Some gorilla families may be near and others abit far from the starting point of tracking. A maximum of one hour will be allocated to stay with the gorillas once you encounter them. On return, transfer to Mgahinga NP reaching in the evening for Dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe safari lodge(deluxe)/Gahinga Lodge(Luxury).

Day 9: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Mgahinga park headquarters for briefing before going  for a golden monkey tracking adventure in the forest. This experience will take 2-5 hours depending on the movement of these monkeys in the forest. You will enjoy them play in the forest in search of food. On return, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi reaching early in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Rock Resort(deluxe)/ Birdnest@Bunyonyi resort(Luxury)

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo and boat cruise
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will set off to Lake Mburo National park reaching early for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, which will reward you with a view of a variety of birds as well as animals such as crocodiles, hippos among others. You will have an evening game drive to see game as giraffes, zebras, impalas among others. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock(deluxe)/Mihingo Lodge, Kigambira lodge(Luxury).

Day 11: Guided nature walk and transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, go for a guided nature walk in the park. You will set off to Kampala with the en-route game drive, and stopover to look at the Royal Drum makers, the Equator -where you will be able to stand and be on both hemispheres at once, arriving in the Kampala in the evening. Overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel(Luxury)/ Onomo Hotel/Humura resort(deluxe)

Day 12: City tour and Departure
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel and go on a city tour in Kampala, visit Kasubi Tombs, Bahai temple, Nakasero fruits Market, National museum, Namugongo shrines, Ghadaffi mosque among others. In the evening, proceed to Entebbe airport at check for your departure flight.

End of Safari.
