Independence monument

This monument is right centered in the heart of Kampala between grand imperial hotel and Sheraton Kampala. The Independence Monument was put up by the former British Colonial Government of Uganda celebrated its first independence on 9th October 1962. The monument portrays a man unwrapping a child raising his hands of victory touching the sky symbolizing liberation. This among other monuments within the city carry a lot of meaning in the history of Uganda up to date.

Buganda trail
