A one day Kigali city will help you explore Rwanda’s capital by meeting people, learning history and getting an overview of Rwanda, a country of “a thousand hills”.
In the morning at 7am, you will be picked from the hotel in Kigali and set off to Ntarama church, where you will learn more about the 1994 genocide. You will then drive to Nyamata church which is also a genocide memorial. From Nyamata church, crown the genocide history with a visit to Gisozi Genocide memorial museum where you will learn more about the history of genocide and how it went throughout the country.
After lunch, you will visit the first house which is the area where the plane that was carrying president habyarima was brough down, that later sparked the infamous 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will then visit the Belgium museum and learn more about Rwanda’s culture. Crown the day with a visit to the local markets where you will learn more about the economic aspect of Rwanda.
Later in the evening, proceed to the Crystal View Cocktail Lounge on the eighth floor of the Top Tower Hotel for panoramic views overlooking the entire city of Kigali! As striking at night as it is during the day. At the end of the tour, one is reminded exactly why Rwanda is known as “The Land of a Thousand Hills”
